Golden launches Five New Digital Products in the Art Materials Market.
With the addition of five new products from GOLDEN ARTIST COLORS, INC., Digital Mixed Media artists no longer have to work within the confines of commercially prepared substrates to create their artwork. Now artists will be able to turn just about any relatively flat surface into a printable surface, achieving clear crisp images on acrylic skins, metal foils, specialty papers and more. The five new products that, along with existing products, work together as a system include Digital Ground White (Matte), Digital Ground Clear (Gloss), Digital Ground Clear for Non-Porous Surfaces, Gel Topcoat with UVLS (Gloss), and Gel Topcoat with UVLS (Semi-Gloss)

Digital Ground White (Matte) is an opaque, white ground that works well on a variety of surfaces, offering a bright white gesso-like ground.

Digital Ground Clear (Gloss) is a clear ground for use on most absorbent surfaces, allowing the substrate to show through the ground.

Digital Ground for Non-porous Surfaces is a clear ground that offers improved adhesion on non-porous materials, such as aluminum or acrylic panels.

Gel Topcoat with UVLS, available in both Gloss and Semi-Gloss sheens, is a non-removable post-coat offering ultra violet light filters and stabilizers for protection against fading.

permaset water based printing inks

Permaset Aqua is a revolution in water-based fabric and screen printing inks. Made in Australia using advanced polymer technology combined with the purest pigments, Permaset Aqua results in an environmentally friendly and easy to use ink that provides long-term durability without compromising its superior soft handle.

Recent advances in polymer technology have enabled Permaset to manufacture a 100% solvent-free ink with greatly improved print qualities that were previously only attainable with solvent based products. No longer does the user have to suffer with the nasty smells and related health and safety issues that are associated with solvents to produce professional looking results. Permaset Aqua works on almost all fabrics, natural and synthetic, without the need for additives- once the print run is finished, any excess ink can simply be returned to its original container, since it has not been compromised by additives. Permaset Aqua is easily cleaned up with water.

All pigments selected for use in Permaset Aqua needed to meet several criteria, not least of all was that they register nothing less on than 6 on the Blue Wool Scale for lightfastness. To help ensure an almost imperceptible feel on the fabric, all pigments have a particle size of less than 1 micron, making them similar in feel to talcum powder. This in turn means that they need less resin to hold them fast to the fabric, adding to the softness and also allowing the brilliance of the pigment (the part you want to see!) to show through.

fragonard oils

Fragonard oils are well balanced between opaque, semi opaque and transparent. The three primary colors are not single pigments so that the exact colors and their regularity can be guaranteed in production.
Fragonard colors have been created to bring a new freshness of color allied with excellent light resistance. Fragonard colors are also ground several times to ensure the extra fine quality. Fragonard oils are also enhanced by a small quantity of siccative, in order to obtain a surface drying time between 8 to 10 days and a regular thorough drying without cracks.

Panpastels

PanPastel Colors are genuine artists’ quality pastels, uniquely packed in a pan format; available in a range of 60 colors. Loaded with the highest quality artists’ pigments; PanPastel Colors are made using a unique manufacturing process requiring minimal binder and fillers, resulting in a rich, ultra soft and low dust formulation. All of these professional quality colors are highly pigmented, have excellent lightfastness and are fully erasable. Each pan contains 35%* more material than the average pastel stick. R&F Encaustics

R&F encaustic paints are an unusual alternative to other painting mediums. composed of beeswax and resin, it is applied molten to a surface and fused creating a lustrous enamel effect. since wax is impervious to moisture and over time will retain all the freshness of a newly finished work.

-Encaustic paint cools in minutes, which means additional layers can be added immediately. Once the surface has cooled, the paint has reached a permanent finish, but the painting can also be revised and reworked at any time -- whether seconds or years later.

-It can be laid on in delicately thin glazes or super thick impastos.
It can be carved, shaped and molded -- built to high or low relief.

-Its adhesiveness makes it an excellent collage medium that can be impregnated with foils, paper, glitter, string, found objects, and many other things.

-Encaustic painting does not require solvents of any kind. As a result, a number of health hazards are reduced or eliminated.
